CRIME: Man to be sentenced Tuesday for keeping 4 young, malnourished sons in filthy Denver home

A report pointed out a father whom we can call "just a man" whose four young sons could communicate only in grunts when authorities rescued them from a filthy Denver apartment faces up to seven years in prison when he is sentenced Tuesday.

Sixty-seven-year-old Wayne Sperling pleaded guilty to his second offense of child abuse in November. Authorities say Sperling, his wife and the boys lived in an apartment filled with cat feces and flies. The children, ages 2 to 6, were malnourished when they were found in October 2013.

Sperling's wife, Lorinda Bailey, was sentenced to 90 days in jail and five years of probation.

Prosecutors say it was one of their most horrific cases, but Colorado's child abuse laws kept them from pursuing harsher penalties because the children did not suffer serious physical injuries.

Prosecutors say the boys are improving in foster care.

Super Eagles Star Bought Himself A Brand New Rolls Royce Ghost Worth $250,000.

This is roughly about #42m in Nigerian currency
26-year-old Super Eagles forward Ideye Brown broke a record at English club, West Bromwich Albion in July 2014 when he was signed for £10 million having joined from Ukrainian side, Dynamo Kyiv. Ideye, who has played in both the Champions League and Europa League, has scored 5 goals in 24 appearances for Nigeria. In 2013, he helped Nigeria clinch its 3rd African Cup of Nations title, scoring in the 4-1 semi-final victory over Mali.

The good news is that Ideye has just acquired a new Rolls Royce Ghost Series II. Disclosing this on Instagram, Super Eagles/ (Israel)Hapoel Be’er Sheva midfielder, John Ogu uploaded his friend’s new ride with a caption,”Congrats to my Man @ideyebrown for his New Whip ROLL ROYCE GHOST… 2015 we Ready For You.. You will Get Yours too By GOD’s Grace.”

Valued at $250,000, the Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II is powered by a 6.6-liter, twin-turbocharged V-12, which produces 563 horsepower and 575 lb-ft of torque. This powerhouse, based on the BMW 760i’s 6.0-liter V-12, is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.Another big thing: on the Ghost, the gearbox is “satellite-aided” in order to predict the driver’s next moves and shift or hold gears accordingly.

The Spirit Of Christmas: We Celebrate Jesus Christ

Christmas is the time to merry and celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. It's ought to be a worthy time to tell others how thankful we are to have the saviour born in our image. Let us always remember Christ not only on "xmas" day but all days of our life. Let us all dwell in his glory of sacrifice and we remain in his vine yard even when we seem not worthy in our heart. God loves us no matter where we find ourselves. Because the Bible says, blessed is he that repents from his lost way. Merry Xmas.

NAFDAC Gets International Recognition Fron Better Standard

The Regional Drug Laboratory of the National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC), located in Yaba, Lagos State, has recorded a major feat with its international accreditation by the Board of American Society for Quality.

The Tide gathered that news of the international accreditation of the laboratory filtered out after a thorough audited and assessment of the quality Management system (QMS) of the entire facility carried out by officials of the American society for Quality technically known as ASQANSI.

The Director-General of NAFDAC, Dr Paul Orhii, dropped the hint while addressing Regulatory officers of the Agency at the Annual Budget Retreat held in Lagos Thursday.

The Director-General disclosed that the Yaba laboratory has now joined other NAFDAC laboratories that have gained international accreditation in the last one year.

He listed the Mycotoxin, pesticides, Food and High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) laboratories as the four that have obtained such accreditation.

According to him, NAFDAC is making strides not only in infrastructural transformation but also in the area of international standardisation and recognition of the Agency’s regulatory activities.
The Director-General said the accreditation of NAFDAC laboratories has positive ripple effect on the current effort of the Federal Government to diversify the economy by boosting production and export potential of indigenous industries.

It's Getting Hotter: The Northern Region of Nigeria Finally Choses General Muhammadu Buhari For 2015 Presidency Election Over Goodluck Jonathan.

The emergence of a former Head of State, General Muhammadu Buhari, as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), appears to have changed the political calculations in the North.

Vanguard learnt, last night, from very competent sources, that many of the northern political opinion leaders and groups had decided that all necessary support must be given to Buhari to win the February 14, 2015 presidential election so as to return power to them after their failed bid in 2011.
“There is a serious change in the political mood in the North since Buhari was elected as the APC candidate last week. Right now, the people do not care whether they are in APC or PDP. All they are interested in is that power must return to the North through the election of the former Head of State.”

A northern governor supportive of Jonathan’s presidential bid told Vanguard.

Also, the Chairman of the northern influential group, Arewa Consultative Forum ACF, Alhaji Ibrahim Coomassie, lent credence to the move when he insisted in a chat with Vanguard that power, next year, must shift to the North.

One of the sources, an influential northern leader and close confidante of President Goodluck Jonathan, revealed that since Buhari’s emergence, the ‘entire North’ had adopted his as its political candidate and was not afraid to stand by him to win the 2015 election.

The PDP big wig pointed out that it was shocking to see how the support base of Buhari had evolved beyond political lines, with some radical elements threatening to deal ruthlessly with anyone who betrays Buhari in the North this time around.

The governor, who spoke to Vanguard, showed two of such threat messages written in Hausa and English to him, warning him not to betray the North for the President as he did in the last presidential election.

One of the mails came from a ranking federal northern lawmaker while the other was from a man the governor described as his friend.

It was learnt that the current political mood in the North had since been relayed by the security agencies and some friendly PDP governors to Jonathan, who apparently expressed surprise over the turn of events but promised to do something urgent to swing support in his favour.

Also, the Presidency, through the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, Dr Doyin Okupe, said Nigerians will not vote their next President on the basis of ethnicity.

North Korea Claims It Is Not Responsible for Sony Attack, Wants Probe Investigation

The admission was made one day after the FBI confirmed that North Korea was behind the Nov. 24 attacks against Sony. Friday night, President Barack Obama also said it was a "mistake" to dismiss the movie, which is about assassinating North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un.

Another Sony development. North Korea is now claiming that it had nothing to do with the Sony Pictures attacks, which led to cringe-worthy email leaks and the cancellation of Seth Rogen and James Franco's upcoming comedy The Interview. An unidentified Foreign Ministry spokesman says the country can prove its innocence, but the U.S. must also accept a joint probe investigation into the scandal.

The 3 police officers had been said to received a phone call earlier yesterday from someone of theirs in order to bring them food. But, instead for the food to give them strength, the food rather took their strength while on duty and they all slept off which made the officers to lose their guns (AK-47, and other ammunitions) to the people that drugged them.
