The centenary celebration has given room for the upgrade of our currency notes, this time N100 note takes it’s turn. President Goodluck Jonathan, unveiled the N100 note in Abuja, which is said to be commanding certain elegant features.
The security features which includes, windowed micro-optics, spark features and smart phones as identity and security tool for de-encryption of information. Retention of Chief Awolowo’s portrait-intaglio and the QR code that tells the centenary story.
The presidential spokesman Reuben Abati has described some features of the centenary note and how it will be unveiled respectively.
19th of November, will be the launch of partnership with banknote equipment manufacturers.
On 26th of November, CBN will send publication on new notes to Banks, Chambers of commerce and the Police.
On the 3rd of December, it will be sent to 1000 POS.
On the 17th of December, how to check the new notes will be advertized on CBN’s YouTube channel.
On the 19th of December, the new N100 goes into circulation.
